con/temp participated in a weekend of charettes for social justice from September 17-19, 2004--cohosted by Miami University's Center for Community Engagement in Over-the-Rhine and Architecture for Humanity.

The weekend offered an occasion to link art and architecture to social change: to place aesthetic work within movements for social justice and civil rights.

A majority of the charette participants were creating architectural drawings and "responsible use plans" for the public spaces in Over-the-Rhine. Con/temp (along with Bill Santen) spent the weekend laying the groundwork for a music project that will culminate with the release of a cd of original music--all songs included in this project will use the poetry of homeless people as lyrical inspiration.
