Interfraternity Chapters at Transylvania

Delta Sigma Phi

Delta Sigma Phi was founded at Transylvania in October of 1941.  Its members, often referred to as Sigs, have said that they enrich their college experience by growing as people, community members, students, and leaders.  They take many service roles on campus as well as making charitable contributions to the March of Dimes and other charities.

Kappa Alpha

The Kappa Alpha Order was founded at Washington and Lee University in Virginia on the basis of chivalry and brotherhood.  The KAs of the Alpha Theta chapter at Transylvania do much work with their philanthropic organization, the March of Dimes, as well as participate in many Transylvania student organizations.

Phi Kappa Tau

The Theta chapter of Phi Kappa Tau was founded at Transylvania in 1919.  This fraternity has fundamental principles by which its members encompass the "total man concept" of spiritual, mental, social, and physical well-being.  Phi Tau members also work with the Hole in the Wall Gang, a summer camp for terminally ill children, founded by alumnus Paul Newman.

Pi Kappa Alpha

The Kappa chapter of Pi Kappa Alpha is the oldest fraternity chapter on Transy's campus, being founded in 1888.  Today, known as the Pikes, its members contribute much to their chosen charity, the Toys for Tots foundation.  One of its most prominent and notable alumni is former Kentucky Governor A.B. "Happy" Chandler.
