GREETINGS   Here we are at the end of another school year which means the end of a TWC year too. Officers were elected at the March meeting to take over June 15, 2012. Mary Ruth Clark, Anna Wilson and Gayle Greer were reelected and Patsy Nielsen was elected Vice President. Refreshments for the meeting were provided and served by Corbin Crutcher, Norma Hylton, Patsy Nielsen, Anna Wilson and Pryntha Hardenbergh,  Thank you so much. And another thank you to Mary Ruth Clark for bringing the beautiful centerpiece.

     The program for the March meeting was presented by Transylvania professor of history, Melissa A. McEuen. She outlined her recent book Making War, Making Women: Femininity and Duty on the American Home Front, 1941-1945. As written about her book, “Melissa has used propaganda, popular advertising, voluminous government records, and hundreds of letters and other accounts written by women in the 1940s to examine how extensively women’s bodies and minds became “battlegrounds” in the U.S. fight for victory in World War II.” This is a captivating account and one any woman will find fascinating.

ALUMNI WEEKEND Hope you were able to attend some of the activities during Alumni Weekend. TWC sold $212.00 worth of our specialty items during the luncheon on Saturday. Thank you to Patsy Nielsen, Jessie Fennell, and Corbin Crutcher for helping sell.

MEMBERSHIP TWC finished the year with 140 members. Thank you to each one of you.  We begin a new year in June. Dues will be $20.00 and can be sent to Gayle Greer, 190 Balsam Court, Versailles KY 40383 or brought to the picnic.
